Watch Trump’s houses.
The golf course was the tip of the iceberg. The seventy-five homes Trump’s people are developing are worth a quarter billion dollars and are his key focus. That will also develop a huge pro-Trump constituency on the Peninsula.
“In a 2007 deposition, Trump said that he — or perhaps a buyer down the road — could someday close down the golf course to “get a tremendous number of houses on the site,” which Trump said would have “a bigger value than the golf.”
It’s entirely possible an ordinary person might want to buy a Trump home in Rancho Palos Verdes. But it is becoming increasingly more unlikely these days, given the amount of people who want to curry favor with a President. Don’t pay a bribe, just… buy a condo or house.
No wonder Mr. Trump’s tax returns aren’t public.
Look at the people who buy and flip Trump properties. They (and their Limited Liability Companies) are a truly weird bunch.
Peninsula residents: do you want these people living on The Hill? Do you want them even setting foot there? Do you want endless corruption investigations taking place?
Trump’s companies have broad swathes of houses on Cape Point Drive, Isthmus View Drive, Emerald View Drive, and Twin Harbors View Drive. Some lots are under construction.
Immediately following the 2016 election win? The houses started selling, much faster than they had in any previous year. The Washington Post claims 33 homes in total have been sold for a total of $84 million.
Who is selling the houses? From available information:
– VHPS and VH Properties (both Trump companies).
– “Diamond Bernie (Esquire)” This almost invisible company (Is it a company?) appears to be a vehicle for Trump lawyer Bernard Diamond, who assisted Trump with his ‘pump and dump’ Florida real estate project.
– Phil Ruffin: USA business partner of Trump. Ruffin owns a tower with Trump in Las Vegas, and was the first to buy a California Trump property. He owns two houses on Twin Harbors Drive, one under his name and one under the name of his company ‘Winner Plus Global‘.
Fortunately, this is all a matter of public record, via online real estate portals and company registrations. But it’s not super easy to find all the details in one place.
